European indices reacted negatively to the bombing in Brussels

The situation on European markets plummeted after the terrorist acts in the capital of Belgium. The Euro Stoxx 50composite index in particular fell by more than one and a half percent. The fall in the German DAX was slightly more than one percent.

Other major European indices, including the FTSE 100, SMI, FTSE MIB IBEX, experienced almost the same fall. Of course, the rather strong losses affected the Belgian BEL 20 index which fell by one and a half percent.

The securities of air carriers suffered from the large losses in the markets too. The stocks of Lufthansa, NAS, Ryanair in particular fell by more than three percent. The British low-cost airline EasyJet lost 6 percent. The shares of the International Consolidated Airlines group of companies lost about five percent.
